Help me make an offer!
Pretty much all the features, magnetic ride control, etc etc etc.
Solid top only.
26k miles, manual transmission
They are asking 29.9K which is fair according to KBB.
I think I can have the car for $27.5k... Is this a good place to end up? Unreasonably low? Maybe I should aim for 26k?
I want to go as low as possible, because I'll be buying a glass roof panel too. Hopefully they aren't prohibitively expensive.
Its a bit of a drive to see it... anything newer than 2002 around here can't be had under $38k

This is their profession and they are better at negotiating then you. If you know that going into the negotiations, you're back in the drivers seat.
Good luck.

Even at what they're asking, it's not a bad price....

What is the reputation of this particular stealership?
Is it a GM or other new car dealer or an independant dealer?
Will they let you have it inspected by a 3rd party?
Are there other add ons like document fees, registration procssing etc?
Are you trading a vehicle and/or financing through the dealer?
Any warranty? Should have the remaining factory warranty at least.
Are there warranty transfer fees?
Usually if a car is priced this low there is possibly something wrong or they are looking to make it up elsewhere in the deal.
Do your homework and be prepared to walk if your get even the slightest twinge in you gut.
Wearing you down is their major weapon. They are not the ones in a hurry. They're not going anywhere and they do this day in and day out.
Once I'm close to a final deal I always say to them. "I'm going to go get some lunch and think about it and I'll be back in an hour".
Then I get up and go. I think it through over lunch or a soda and go back and finalize the transaction. The car has ALWAYS been there when I go back. Usually the sales guy is all over himself happy to see you because thought you blew him off when you went to lunch.
Good Luck

It's a non-GM new car dealership. Chrysler, iirc. No trade in, and I'm paying ca$h money, so they cant try any 'financing' or 'trade in' tricks at least.
Perhaps I should haggle the 'total out the door price' ie: check amount to avoid other things. Perhaps aim at the 29.9k price as the "out the door all said and done, tax title and license" price.

That price is amazing for an '04. At that price, it'll be gone fast. What dealer is this?
