I finaly took an extended road trip in the C-5. On a whim I drove to Las Vegas from Santa Monica. Didn't intend to, but I was having way to much fun to stop. I'm proud to say that even in temps up to 109 (in Vegas) she ran just fine, even keeping up with traffic at 95+ up and down long hills. Got 385.1 miles out of a tank of gas with AC, in that heat (with out running hot), and at "keeping up with traffic" speeds. Stopped a few times on the way up to have a look see but on the way back stopped in Jean just outside of Vegas to give em back some water I rented. left there 6:18 pm and was in Los Angeles at 9:02 pm. What a sweet road car! I was fresh as I was when I left that am and at certian speeds I swear it felt like the road, the Corvette an I were as one. I know you've probably heard it all before but I just wanted to put it out there. Odd thing is only saw 3-4 Corvettes the whole trip. There are a lot of them here.

cool story when making a quick errand in the vette, for some reason it turns out to be a not so quick errand i just cant stop driving this amazing car
I was really surprised how sweet these cars are on long trips. I recently drove 560 miles home from SC and was fresh enough to go out a walk 18 holes. Try that in another car.
This past June we went to Florida in the 2004 coupe. We left the Cadillac home. I really enjoyed the trip, especially the gas mileage. We drove over 2,700 miles, with 500 of it being around town, and I got an overall 27.5 mpg. That was by calculator, not DIC.
Just couldn't resist But back to subject of the thread:
Last year i drove from Reno to Huntingbeach, Ca with around three hours of sleep. When i started out i thought i am surely going to have to pull over and get some sleep somewheres. Drove straight thru and wished i could of kept driving
