Default Is this a Z06?

can you tell via vin # if it is a z06?

1G1YY22G825102503

Have copy of title, nothing about z06, did car fax, didnt say either.
Making offer on car site unseen but contingent on visual inspection but J/C.

2002 41k mileage, yellow, 6 spd. the owner has accpeted $19,000 as a non z06 and $21,000 as a zo6

they are willing to take 11k down, and 12 NO intrest payments of $666.00

Think I have found a good deal either way????

TIA for the replys

Just ask the owner if the side skirts have vents... That sounds like a scam anyways

It's not a Z06. Pluse who the **** would own one of these and not know if it's a Z06 or not. It's pretty clear by the screens, side ducts, wheels, guages, fender badges, and seat stitching.

Not a Z06...sixth digit should be a 1 for hardtop and eighth digit a S for LS6. This VIN is for an 02 Coupe with the LS1...my ref is "The Corvette Black Book".

and this "2002 41k mileage, yellow, 6 spd. the owner has accpeted $19,000 as a non z06 and $21,000 as a zo6" makes no sense what-so-ever.

Recommend keep looking...Good Luck!

Not to mention, you'd think she'd notice the hatchback.

No kidding, but, if the car really is being offered at $19K, sounds like a steal. As you said, "A good deal either way".

Why are they selling so cheap? They could sell that car to a dealer for more than that.

Also ... If it's a 2002 and not a fixed roof coupe (FRC) instead of the hatchback coupe then it's impossible that it's a Z06. Don't tell me someone put "Z06" fender badges on it.

That is a 2002 Millenium Yellow Coupe, 6spd, polished wheels, 1SC, Body Side Mouldings. Clear Title.

Even though it is not a Z06, it still sounds like a good deal. But, even though you know her, take the car to a dealer or mechanic you can trust and have the car looked over. The one thing you don't want is to buy someone else's headache. Ask me how I learned that lesson. Unless you are a very experienced car person and can do the inspection yourself, have someone else look at it to make sure there are no hidden problems lurking that will come back to bite you in the wallet.

Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.

Look for "Salvage" on the title or Even a big "S". Each state labels differently. However there aer states that will allow you to "refurbish" the car and get the salvage demarcation removed. I would be leery of this. Do a thorough check on the title.

Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it. Here's the deal, it was her daughter's car and she passed away. She just wants to get rid of it and doesn't want the hassles of selling it. To complicate matters just recently here an older couple was selling their antique truck in the paper and they were robbed, assaulted and murdered. And a younger couple too had the same thing happen about 6 months ago. So she feels that by going through me, someone she knows and trusts that she will take less for the car then what it is worth. Also the $666.00 payments are only for 12 months with no interest, and she came down to $18,500.00. She feels I'm so trustworthy that she is not even asking to be as a lien holder on the title. So after I give her the DP, the title is mine free and clear. I have a photocopy of it (title). I just make the 12 payments, WHICH I DEFINITELY WILL. (When someone puts that much trust in you it really makes you feel good and very motivated to abide by the deal) I did a Carfax report and it came back clear. So I think it will work out. I'll post some pics when I finish the deal. Again, much obliged for the input and assistance.
