I realize this should be in the audio section, but not getting many hits over there. Here is my problem:
A while back, I discovered that the output of the right rear speaker in my coupe was slightly muted compared to the output of the remaining drivers. Initially thinking it was the speaker, I replaced it. Didn't work. Some searching led me to believe it was a bad amplifier. Sent it in for repair (corvetteradios). Got it back in...still doesn't work.
I have no bass response, and slightly muted high frequency notes from the right rear. Could the deck be heading south? Any ideas are appreciated.
You came to the right place my friend, I used to do this for a living. Now, you don't mention if this problem exists using the radio or some other function you may have on. I am assuming it is the same on all functions and that it is the stock Bose system. First off, swap the left speaker with the right. If it sounds bad on the same speaker (now on the other side), then you have a bad speaker. If it sounds bad on the other speaker, (the same right hand side), then you may have a problem with your wiring harness, or the repair shop didn't really fix or test the amp correctly. The amplifier would have been my first guess, but the speaker could be bad and swapping them is an easy and a good way to see if it is the amp or the speaker. If you have any other questions, PM me.
