Probably OT, but for what its worth... Take the vette... Get on the road and then go where you want to go... She may get mad, but she will be there.... Compromise complete...

Tell her you'll take the towncar and that way you can go where you want to go. THen before you leave, put the vette on a trailer and haul it behind the towncar to your destination. Best of both worlds.

I have learned about the 50/50 compromising thing. In their minds its 50 you give and 50 they take. Good luck!!!

While it IS called compromise, the best thing to do would be to let her decide where to go and take the Vette. That way if she has a miserable time because of location, it's not on YOU, and I doubt there will be anything miserable about taking the Vette. If you go where YOU want to go, than you have it on your shoulders to make sure it is the best time EVER, or you'll hear it the rest of your life.....

Go where she wants to go, but see if there are any places that would also be interesting to you nearby. Then you get to take the Vette and have a good time.

Default Here's an Idea

Take her in her TC to the destination. Let her check in, relax, order some food, whatever. When she jumps into the tub to take that nice hot bubble bath, and they'll almost ALWAYS do that, sneak out, drive the TC home, grab the vette and return. By then, she'll be so relaxed and happy she'll have forgotten all about the TC (make sure you ply her with flowers, wine, romantic dinner, maybe room service?, and let her get something chocolate for dessert too....trust me, you'll have no problems with her if you follow these instructions carefully). Good luck!

You take the vette....to where you want to go, she takes her ride where she wants to go...meet for dinner....at a Hooters.

Case solved.

I've been with my wife almost 34 years - I never make compromises unless I know exactly what's at stake. Listen to where she wants to go, tell her where you want to go - plan it out in detail, consider it all and then decide.

But my wife loves the Vette almost as much as I do - and anytime she can go for a ride in the Vette is okay with her. She was my roadtip companion when I bought the car three years ago and drove it from Chicago home to Phoenix over the weekend. Never heard one complaint on that trip - and talks fondly of that trip to this day.

Take the 'Vette to her destination. You'll have fun driving, regardless of where you end up. She'll be happy because she's where she wants to be. If she's happy, she can make you very happy, no matter where you are. And if she's unhappy it won't be much of a vacation for either of you.
