[Z06] Balance troubles
i hope there is someone that can help me. bought zo6 chrome wheels for my 2003-z06, got new avon rubber. i have this combo balanced at three different places. the last place had a hunter #9700 road force machine which i have told is the best. i have had to send back 1 wheel and 1 tire, three of the four are now susposed to be okey, but the left rear took 71/2 oz. and the tech said thats a lot, its the tire again according to them. i took it out and at 90 it didnot feel that great, may its my mind, but i at the end of my rope with balancing thing, hope someone has some answers.
At 7.5 oz, it sound like the tech did not turn the tire on the rim to minimize the road-force load (imbalance). If the redo gives equally bad results, then you are back to the original vendor for a tire exchange or a wheel exchange.
Sound like your wheels have been off the car several times and no doubt an air hammer has been used to tighten all the lug nuts. You ought to do youself a favor and hand torque them 30-70-100 in a star pattern. This will help keep the rotors true.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

The third time he broke the bead and turned the tire 180 degrees from the rim. It worked. Much better natural balance, mimimal weights were used.
Good luck.
