Thanks CF and to those members who've responded to my posts
Yep, during these past two weeks of Vette ownership, this forum, as well as many of the members here, has saved me about a $150 in labor costs by providing 'How To' links, as well as very helpful responses to my posts. I installed my new driver's side targa top weatherstrip (dealer wanted to charge me about $100) and I also programmed both of my key fobs myself. The dealer wanted $50 to program a new one with a dead battery, and then their tech deprogrammed my old one during the process. Needless to say, I quickly had to learn how to program my original key fob myself, since the dealership was closed for the day. Although a little complicated at first, I eventually figured it out thanks to an instructional link provided by one of our Supporting Vendors.
Here, I learned about the infamous column lock problem and its solution: the column lock block. Curing that problem cheaply ($50) and easily (about 1 hour) made the price of my lifetime membership seem like a bargain.
If I listed everything I've learned on the forum, I'd completely hijack this thread.
I cannot agree enough about how great this forum is, with one exception. I'm not sure that my checkbook will be able to survive with all of the mods that I would like to do after seeing your pictures and reading your stories. Thanks again guys (and gals), you are great.

Anytime I've ever had a problem or question, I've always found the answers on the forum. I've never been as hands on with any other car I've owned until now. It's reassuring to know there are so many knowledgeable and helpful people a few clicks away.
