Default Need A Little Help

I'm thinking of trading in my 95 pace car and my 99 coupe for a 05 corvette. What do you think?

If you can get a great deal, why not. But you may be better off trying to sell the two you have yourself.

You have a '95 Pace car? They only made 527 of them....and the '99 for an '05? I certainly wouldn't - but they're not my cars. At the end of the model year '05 - they couldn't give those cars away. Most everyone wanted the '06 with the paddle shifters....

Do what you want, BUT. If I had the space, I'd hang on to the pace car. I rarely see those things. If I had to sell it I would sell it to someone who appreciates the value of it (NOT THE CAR DEALER).

By the way, what is the 95PC worth?

I was told by the 95 pace car newsletter that the car is worth between 32 and 35 thousand.
I took it to a dealer the other to see what they would give me on a 05 or 06 and the dealer offer me 16 thousand.

I'm not sure what a Pace Car is worth but if you say around 30k plus a 99 vette.......are you getting money in return. I see almost new 05's in the low 40's. Even in the high 30's with a little milage. I love the 05 style but I would keep 2 vettes.

Good luck

I personally wouldn't get a 1st year model vette, they have had their fair share of problems, I'd keep the two vettes you have and mod the 99 to your liking!

This quote from the Corvette Action Center web site....

"Corvette paced the Indianapolis 500 race in 1995 and Chevrolet produced a special Dark Purple and White convertible pace car model. On January 3, 1995, Chevrolet announced to its dealers that 522 pace cars would be produced with 87 of these for Indy festival and public relations use and 20 for Canada and European export. The remaining 415 would go to each of the top 415 dealers. Actual final production was 527."

You just don't see these around very much - I've only ever seen one.(Other than at the 1995 race) I would definitely hold onto that car.

Do what you will - but I would stay away forum the '05's (too many issues, just ask me!).

If you are considering the coupe - be aware that '05 and '06 have a 'delaminating' issue (painted tops).

There is a recall on these - but from what I've read GM is behind on having stock available for this process.

However, the dealers are doing a 're-work' on the adhesive, but again this has been shown to fail.

Last, there is a post in the C6 section where a C6 owner has done his own adhesive process, and last I read it was holding.

Note that a '06 on the lot is selling for as much as 7k off MSRP.

I owned #17 'on the track' example.

For all the Vettes I've owned this one got the most attention.

Sweet car - but it is a C4 (step in/out configuration sucks) and the breaks are for sh*t.

All '95 PC are exactly the same. Resale has been holding very well. A great example will fetch >$30k (mine had less that 2k on the clock).

Well, if you really want to part with the '95, then why purchase an '05...I'd go ahead and just get an '07?
