Anyone have automatic transmission problems? I think mine may be starting to slip.
This happens all the time, especially to modded vettes, you just may not hear it but there are guys out there who regularly are putting trans's in these cars...
What is it doing exactly? Reving up and not accelrating? When are you having this problem, at what speed and driving conditions.. ?

My 2000 a4 with 32000 miles is getting a tranny overhaul right now. $2100 is getting me a rebuild with performance upgraded parts that will easily hold up to 500 horsepower for later mods. Its just my way of turning something bad into something good.

I went through that.
Did shift points and shift pressure via Predator first. That was OK.
Returned the tune to stock and installed a B&M shift kit and it was OK.
Then a Trango shift kit. Lost 2nd gear and lots of slipping. Very frustrating.
After 3 more forays into the valve body, and a bunch of new GM parts that I discovered were worn, I finally got the 2-4 band to apply enough pressure and it shifted OK. But still not what I wanted.
So I sold the stock A4 and bought a Rodney (RPM) race tranny. Night and day difference from the old slush box. Instaneous shifts, lights the tyres in 1st and then at 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift all day long (along with a SS3600 and 3.90 gears)
Do yourself a favour : spend the loot for a Stage 5 RPM tranny. Money well spent.

If you need to have your tranny re-built, then go with an upgrade. IMHO it is worth the $$$.
Side Note to EG: With your HP, that TC, & 3.90 rear, road racing could cause over-heating problems, that happened to me once I became proficient at driving.
My A4 went out around 75k miles. At the end, no matter what the RPM I was always going about 65... Extended warranty got me a factory rebuilt with 100k mile warranty.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy it and at what price?
Thanks for the information.
It is a RPM Stage 5 transmission. It cost $2500 plus core (included additional upgrades I asked for). I bought it through ECS (East Coast Supercharging).

did u pay 2500 to ecs all up>?> (along with your core)
or pay ECS labour ontop of the 2500?
my tranny seems ok to shift, but when i reverse from park, or go to accell from N to 1, from the lights from standing still, i get a little shudder momentarily in the innards i guess, but it seems midcabin? - but no delays - the shudder has a slight rattle noise that doesnt last nor cause any stickyness or slackness in movement....
the cost of 2500$ plus core sounds OK if it includes labour, otherwise id still like to know what the ballpark for that would be...
mine went at 45k, had my tranny guy rebuild it with all the stuff from the stage 5 setup plus a few extras, for 700hp nitrous / Twin turbo setup...
Price 3200 installed, 2000 just in parts and converter, 1200 labor.
make sure you use Amsoil tranny fluid, accept no substitue!
Works fine about town and hwy but if I punch it it waits a sec before it goes and the other day seemed to hang between shifts.
I don't recall it doing that before.
i have noticed my a4 hang between gears if i have let off the gas pedal just a little bit it seems to confuse the tranny...and seems to hang up a second or two ...the slow delay for downshift seems normal for operation w/o a tune...........my a4 has 100,000 miles sofar,
Mine is doing ok for 150K miles. Definately due for a Stage 5! Saving my bucks as we speak!
Currently running with modified shift pressure and faster shift timing to stock. On a high speed shift from first to second at WOT with the tires smoking I get some slip. but under normal hard acceleration she is fine.
Sitting still in first and mashing it she does not hesitate and smokes the tires. I think I got one of the good ones out of the plant plus I change the fluid and clean the screens once a year since she was new.
