why isnt my corvette selling ? i havent had any takers or good leads for that matter. its a great car and looking at everyone elses price looks like the price is right. can someone give me some good advice on where to sell it or what i am doing wrong. here is the link, please look and give me some hints, the wife is ready to ki77 me. and no, i am not using this thread to sell it, but for advice.
that was the first thing i did and had someone half way through hijack my account 3 times a wreek havoc. they placed 125 thousand dollars worth of fruadulent auctions up in my name!
I don't consider a six year old car with 77K a high mileage car. 12k a year dosen't sound like a daily driver. Also, it's an LS1.
I agree Autotrader would be the best exposure. Give it more time.
I would remove any reference to aftermarket speed equipment from the listing. Also... I'd drop the racing from my user name "Comfortracing".
My $.02 Good luck with the car and your wife.
hahaha if only you knew what comfortracing meant. i used to do all my friends mods and build there engines so one day they showed up with comfortracing stickers and had t-shirts (comfort is my last name) made in my honor...so over 12 years now its like the name of my fake company. i do understand what you mean though.
Try to get some brighter photos. You need interior shots as well as the engine compartment shots. Try to get better backgrounds. The car becomes lost in the background and the gray day.
Try to get some shots showing a wet look shine. I know it is hard with that color. First impression sells the car! The more you can show the faster it will sell.
I also have a pewter vette but when I looked at your photos the paint looks so dull that I thought it was oxidized silver
Good luck selling her!!!
PS I got a wet look on my pewter by washing the car with Dawn, then I went over the exterior with a clay bar followed by two coats of Zanio then a final coat of Meguires Gold. It took several hours but man did the metal flakes in the petwer pop out after I finished and I saw nothing but turning heads for weeks afterwards as I drove around town.

i think theres about 100 nicer ways you could have posted your response, but "good luck selling her!!" was of course the best way you could. thanks for the input but this post is for help and advice. not for someone to RAG on my car. next time just leave the p.s.
You might also want to consider placing your car into consignment with a Corvette and/or exotic car dealership. The dealer from which my brother purchased his custom Vette yesterday is such a dealer which currently has about four more Vettes left on their lot...amongst other pre-owned high-end exotics.

Sorry. I truly didn't mean to sound demeaning or satirical, I was just trying to share with you my initial reaction to your pictures (I thought that was the type of feedback you where looking for) and wish you all the best in selling your car. As an after thought I decided to share some detailing tips that have worked well for me in getting my pewter Vette’s finish to shine in hopes that it would help expedite the sale your car plus get you the fair price you are looking for. I am fairly new to all of this. Is adding a PS a no no? Again I apologize if I offended you that was not my intent.
I like that car thats alsmost the perfect car i am looking for. (not a convertible). I've looked at your pictures numerous times over the past couple of days... your second picture down looks like the car is lowered. maybe thats factory maybe thats better handling, but the lowering is what shys me away. why is that anyways? just trying to throw a little light from a purchasers point of view.
Try craigslist.org. It's free and they have lists for most of the larger U.S. cities and I had several local people inquire about my '71 Vette when I had it for sale earlier this month. Here's the URL that I used: http://nashville.craigslist.org/about/cities.html Good luck. Your Vette looks like a pretty good deal to me.

If you still have the stock catback and other stock items that have been removed I would recommend putting them back on the car and selling the aftermarket items separately. This way you can lower your price for the car and still walk away with the same net amount of cash. No one will pay an extra penny for the mods you have on your car however they will sell quickly and profitably here on the forum.
More people out there are looking for a "stock" Vette than for modded ones.
For instance if you have the factory shop manuals you can probably sell them here for over $100.00 but no one buying your car would be willing to add $100.00 to the purchase price of your car if you were throwing in the shop manuals. They would just expect you to give them as part of the deal.
Good luck in selling your car!
Another thing, as previously mentioned, is your Avitar. Because of the possible inference to "Racing" I would suggest you list car under a friend's or relative's or a newly established Avitar. Once you have an interested party you can explain the reason you have a new Avitar or why you used someone else's since your Avitar actually has nothing to do with racing.
Your pics are done well but the background is boring and dull. Sell - Sex.
Shoot the car in a park.
Shoot the car in front of a mansion.
You have high resolution so pay attention to the crap & oil on the ground. Basketball hoops and half dead grass are telling stories about you and how the car was driven and maintained that you don't want conveyed. You love the car. You owe it to the car to do better than show us pics of your neighbors and their trash cans for christs sake. One of your pic's is 1/2 in the shade and too far away - it's telling me your hiding something making a crappy shot like that and using it. Get up close and personal. Remember your lighting if it's not right then make it right - don't use a bad pic. Make the background interesting and complimentary to the car. Chevy brouchures don't just park a car in a drive way and shoot away! Don't know how many pics you are listing, but close ups of seats, tires, etc. give good information. If on something like ebay - kill 'em with 20 pic's and tons of sexy dialogue.
A park says sexy.
In front of a nice house say's well cared for.
It's advertising & selling.
Good luck,
