I had a rock chip in my window but with the cold weather in the past winter I end up with a crack before I could get it fixed. So it cost me $200 instead of free to get it fixed

Good deal. Just had a rock chip repaired in mine - insurance picked up the tab and waived deductible.

I've had a chip right at the edge of my HUD area for 2 years and I have been afraid to get it fixed for fear that it will be even harder to see the HUD. It hasn't gotten any worse in 2 years though, so maybe I will just let it stay.
