Hi,
My name is Arnie, and I'm new to the forum. I have a Torch Red '98 6 spd Z-51 Coupe. It is my 4th, and final Corvette. My first was a '72 4 spd Coupe. Bought it around '76. Base engine and suspension, but air and the deluxe interior. Then a '79 Auto Coupe. Base engine and suspension. Then an '85 4+3 Champaigne Beige Glass Top Z-51 Coupe. That Z-51 did it for me. Later, I looked for a glass top, 6 spd Z-51 C5. In '02, my local Pontiac dealer had one on the lot one Sunday, a little dirty, no window sticker, but the part number on the rear sway bar told me it was a Z-51. I went in the following Monday morning and asked where the car was. They said it was in back getting cleaned up and prepped for the lot. I went back to look at her, she was up in the air on the hoist, and the salesman was smiling big time. He asked me, "How many miles do you think are on it?" (the underside was SPOTLESS). "Well, not many, obviously." 5200 miles
. By that afternoon it was mine. They never even put the dealership name on it.
She is such a sweety. I put Borla Stingers on it and the CAGS defeat kit on it.
My Brother bought a brand new '03 Z06, museum delivery. His is stock.
