[Z06] Does Size Really Matter?

Anywho...I am considering a couple of options and need some input from those of you with more knowledge than me (that's pretty much everyone else on the forum!). The rotors need replacing on the 98 coupe I am looking at and it needs wheels and tires. I am pretty sure that the rotors on the Z06 are larger than those on a coupe...is this so and if so, can I put the larger rotors on with no issues? Also I am pretty sure that the tire sizes on the Z06 are larger than the coupe even though both have 17's in the front and 18's in the rear. It is my understanding that increasing the tire sizes to at least Z06 sizes is no problem. Am I correct in these assumptions?
Fire away...
The 98 coupe will have smaller wheels than a Z06.... 17" x 8.5" and
18" x 9.5" to be exact. Not safe to fit Z06-sized 265's and 295's on these wheels as the wheels are an inch narrower.
Just get some used OEM Z06 wheels and tires to replace the stock ones and you'll be good to go. They'll fit with no problems and will be inexpensive upgrade.
And to answer your original question....YES, size does matter!

Take care!
Since you're downsizing. If possible find a 99 FRC w/Z51. Handling would be similar to the Z. Either way.
Go get some NAPA rotors. The cheap ones all us track ho's like. It would cost you about $120 for all 4. Then get some Z06 pads from Fred Beans for about $200 for all 4 wheels. Now your braking would be pretty much what you are used too.
Getting a set of used Z06 rims with some Supercars on it would also add to it.
Then throw in some 04 Z06 shocks to tighten it up a bit (if they're the original shocks they are overdue to be replaced anyway). Possbily Z06 sway bars if you get a non Z51 car.
Beyond that an air breather and exhaust upgrade. It won't be as quick as the Z but it won't suck either.
And, YES, size does matter! Any of the ladies who told you it doesn't were just being polite. But you can fix that these days.
(sorry you asked for it with that thread title).
