Recently had my 01 Vert in for the repair to the AC illumination problem, and now the fuel filler door won't open. I can open it with the cable release, but the button doen't work, checked fuse, its OK. Any ideas?
Thanks, Dave
I had the same problem the very day i picked my car up.
I later took the console apart and i think it was just the button was stuck down or something and it fixed it. Only took five mins,
Give er a try. Good luck.
When the console is removed the electrical connection in the console must be disconnected. Check the filler door switch connection. There are 4 screws inside the console to take out and you can check the connection.

Sounds like they forgot to plug the connector back into the switch.
I had this problem once with mine. We pushed on the outside door and got it open and the connector the gas cap was turned around and was jamming into the door, causing it to not open. Simple solution do a somewhat devastating problem (at least I thought so at the time)

May want to check and see if the connector on the release button is connected. When they worked on the A/C, they may have unhooked it and forgot to put it back.
its the way they designed the plug to try and fit in that little pocket, if you have had the console out you just have to make sure the plug snaps back into place, it happened to me
i had a similar problem after having my ipod hard-wired. apparently the tech forgot to plug the loop that is activated by the fuel door release button. it can be checked and repaired in matter of 10to 15 minutes.
