I'm thinking about extending my GMPP warranty for another 3/36,000 in the next few weeks, but I'm also strongly considering changing the rear from 3.15 to 3.90 or 4.10, and I will also probably go with a Yank 3200 T/C at that time. My question is, I know technically this would void the warranty, but what is the likelihood that I would be turned away at the GM dealership because of these modifications?
If the problem is "related" to the MOD than the dealer may whine about no warranty. If the problem is something not related to the MOD the warranty is still in effect.
Example - Some dealer's will try and claim that you rear end change made the AC stops working but you can fight that. See my point.
The main issue is the word "RELATED". The dealer and the owner will have issues over the word related. The line is there but who's will draw it?

Most dealers will have no idea that you put 3.90 or 4.10 gears and a mild stall in your car. As the others have said, it MUST be the root cause of your problem or they have to honor the warranty.

I'd have to agree as long as the problem isn't related to what mods you did, you will probably be OK. But, just remember that there is always the chance that the dealer will somehow find out and try to deny any coverage.
Thanks for the info. As was mentioned, I would think it'd be unlikely that the dealer would know I swapped the gears, but as for the T/C, how easy would it be for them to be able to tell that I changed that?

You would have to get a good tech that could hear and feel the different T/C.
