to protect paint around wheels, and below doors, from rocks ;
followed directions, still bubbly and looks bad., so took it off.
any options, for similar products to protect rockers ?
got thicker clear adhesive protective film, for lights & turn signals ,from Midamerica;

I've heard the 3M product is very good, but like you say pricey. Also, once its on, you can't take it off and put it back on again. But if it does the job and looks good, then it could be worth the expense.
If I were you i would try again, I have been using them for years on my 97 C-5. I apply them with a light mixture of water and a couple of drops of soap. I spray the area with the soap and water solution and then spray the back of the cleartastics with the same solution. this enables you to position them properly. I then use a credit card to wipe the cleartastics and get out the bubbles. I let them dry on the car for 24 hours and then drive the car. I was entered in MOD F at carlisle with the cleartastics on and had a tie breaker for 1st place scoring 99.5 points with the cleartastics on the car. I then drove home today ( monday ) in torential on and off rain, and when I got home the Cleartastics were still on the car doing between 70 - 85 mph all the way home after a 5 hour drive. I would definately try them again, there worth it. I takes some practice to get them perfect, but after a while you will and your car will appreciate them. wcj P.S. if i was told to take them off for any show, i would pull out of the show rather than subject the car to possible damage without them.
