While at Carlisle, met a group of individuals that said putting a C5 in reverse (Only 6 speed) when laying it up for a long period of time saves on the battery. Did anyone ever hear this, and is it true?
What gear do you leave it in when you have it parked? (Once again 6 speed only).

First - they, with comments toward the C5, are wrong. There has nothing to do with 'battery saving'.
Next, the C6 ('05 model only) must be shut down in reverse.
Last, any gear is okay when shutting down (preferences are reverse or first).
Most use first since it is usually more convenient when restarting the Vette and then driving off (strait ahead).

Never heard of that. I normally leave the car in reverse when I park it in the garage anyway, but have left in in 1st before - didn't notice any difference with the battery.
