I have a 2003 with automatic headlamps which is the law in Canada. In low light situations the lights pop up. I have heard that there is a fix for this to allow the driver to control when the lights go on. Any help out there?

On my US car, you can turn the twilight sentinel on or off through the DIC. Check your owners manual and see if that option is available in cars imported into Canada.
Go into the fuse box thats in the passenger seat footwell and pull out relay #44. Thats it, now you have to turn your light on and off manually. You might want to use a pair of long nose pliers, those relays are pretty tough to get out with your fingers. I've had mine out since 2002.
Ya going to Mosport this weekend to watch Ron Fellows?
You can alway depend on corvette owners to help, I really appreciate it, do you know if this affects anything else at all? by the way if you are in need of new tires I just got a killer deal from a buddy of mine in the business. Bridgestone SO3 1,575.00 canadian everything included. This is approx. 65% off the list price. Car rides and handles like a dream. Email me at tholgate@powergate.ca and I will give you more information. Mosport is out for me this weekend I've got a honey do list and family visiting.
Nothing else is affected. I've had mine done since '02, no issues at all. As a matter of fact, if you have your fog lights turned on, I think they still might come on when it gets dark, but thats only if you have them turned on.
Let me know how you make out.
What size on the tires?

you guys are something else, I no sooner have a problem and one of you get the answer on the forum before I even ask the question.Thank's for the info on the headlights, I pulled #44 and no more automatic pop up's and it doesn't appear to affect anything else.It was bugging me to see those things pop up every time I started the car, wear and tear for no good reason. All good now, thanks again

I have a 2003 and I happen to see that feature on the DIC. I am able to turn that feature on and off.
On the right side of the steering wheel, there is a list of features (furl, options, reset, etc). Press on "options" and on the display under speedometer. You will see Twilight on or off. To turn it off once you see twilight on, press on the "reset" button once under the E/M button. This will turn the deayture off.

On cars that are exported to Canada, they remove that option,so we have to pull the fuse! But we have really cool 300mph speedos.
