Hey, just bought my first Vette and moved right up to the 2004 C5.
I would appreciate any comments, suggestions, do's and don'ts, etc. to help me on the right track (I know enough to be dangerous)!
Thanks, you folks have a great forum!
congrats on your now C5 My first vette was a 04 also. Is your a Coup, convertible or an Z06. My first mod was to replace the 273 differential with a 342. I highly recommend this upgrade.
At this point I'm just looking for maintenance issues, unusual quirks that other owners may have experienced. My C5 is a coupe with automatic trans. Thanks
congrats to the new purchase. you will love the car.
The 1 item i will mention you should be cautious about is the little button that disengages the traction control. be aware of driving in the competive mode unless you are fully familiar with the power of the car. you will be surprised how easy it is to lose control of the car in this mode.
have fun with the car.
Thanks that sounds interesting and I recently did that on my 96 Z-28, it made a big difference all right and went from 14.0 to 13.4 (including other bolts ons). This time I'm starting off slow to get myself familiar with a relatively new car that I don't want to mess up.
Congrats. I just bought my 04 coupe MN6 two months ago. No quirks that I can think of, except for the heat thru the transmission tunnel.
Beware of the mod bug, though. I vowed to keep my car stock, but somehow there's a full exhaust sitting in my garage waiting to be installed as soon as my Honker gets here.
