Worth it or wasted
Going to do my second oil change this weekend. On the first change I
ran a quart of oil through after draining just to help flush out some of the old oil.
Do you think this is a waste of good oil or could it be worth it in the
long run?

It is a waste of oil. First, poring in just one quart is not adequate for what you are trying to accomplish, as it does not circulate through the engine.

make sure the engine is fully warmed up before you start - no need to flush it with a quart

Thanks for the feedback! I don't remember who told me to do that but
since it was my first vette figured I would go the extra mile if it acually
helped.
Enjoy the day!

Think about it. You pour it in and it goes straight to the oil pan, where you dump it out. What did it "flush"?

Put all new oil in, let it run for awhile then drain that new oil out.

Don't waste the $. Just make sure the engine is up to operating temperature before changing the oil. Make sure the front of the car is slightly lower than the rear so the drain plug is at the lowest point on the pan. Leave the plug out till all oil stops running out - about 10 minutes and you have it all. Leave filter off during the drainig process.
