Alright guys, had my stock 04Z dyno today at hutters perfomance center in chardon OH. They use a mustang dynometer. After three pulls my numbers are 380/355 hp/torque.. Someone talk to me here!!! can this be right? This car is bone stock..Even the folks at hutters were surprise by these numbers but everything with the dyno check out fine. Some imput here please..Thanks..
Although I've never used a mustang dyno, I've seen that when trying to convert your standard load bearing numbers to dynojet numbers, the result is often inflated numbers vs the dynojet.
That seems too high for a bone stock 2004 Z06, but I'm very happy for you. If you ever run it in the quarter mile, you should be trapping a bit higher than average if that number is legit (relative to a 355 rwhp Z06).
That is pretty high for being on a Mustang dyno. I guess a big congrats is due.
Yea, thats what we thought as well. even did a forth pull to to double check are numbers and it was 379.9 so i dont know. On a side note, Hutters Performance does alot of work on the L.S. engines. They seem pretty sharp, so im going to have them install my LG headers, X-pipe, high flow cats, and my air intake in a couple weeks.I let you all know what the new numbers will be... Thanks
Is that SAE hp and tq?
What smoothing factor was used?
I had my Z06 dyno'd on a mustange (breathless) and a dynojet (LGM) and it was within 2 rwhp of each other. That is my direct, first hand experience with variation between the two types of dynos.
Most stock Z06's dyno between 350-365 rwhp - a little more with a good tune.
yea i know what your saying mqqn, it does seem high. after reading your message i gave treavor,at hutters a call to see if my numbers were SAE, and yes they were. also ask him if there were any other variables that may have affected my baseline numbers. nothing that he could think of, so i dont know. he did say he dyno a 06Z and the numbers he got compared to what LG dyno numbers were on their stock Z, so i dont know what to think... thanks for your imput..cheers

Did you ask what other 02-04 Z's were dynoing at, at his place? Any other dyno shops around your area to re-dyno? If the numbers are repeatable at another, then you've got yourself a factory freak!
No other dyno shops close by outlaw don, maybe it is a factory freak<LOL> Yea he has dyno other LS engines and the numbers were all close to what the average numbers should be. so i dont know what to think. Im going to have them install and tune my LG headers, high flow cats, x-pipe and air intake in a week or two, so i post those numbers as soon as the work is done...Cheers

Those are great stock numbers, but I'll bet your HP gains will be minimal... 5 to 10. Your torque will probably increase by 25 to 30 lb ft.
From what I've seen, the lower the base numbers, the higher the hp gains from headers and exhaust, and vise versa.
