I have the Elite Engineering jacking pads on the way, and I would like to know if anyone manufactures jack stands with the same type of contact point as this pictured jack.
I would like to use the stands on the pads when the car is up in the air, but I don't think the conventional V-type shape of the stands' contact point would work with the pucks. Does anyone know where I can find jack stands like this, or if they are even manufactured? Thanks.
I'm using a set of AC Hydraulics jackstands that have flattop posts (but they are by no means cheap: they're around a 100 bux EACH and I bought 4 of em ):
The two places on the web (that I know of) that sell them are:
ultimategarage.com
asedeals.com
The AC Hydraulics floorjacks are awesome too but also pricey; worth every penny IMHO
Any reason to be concerned about the fact that the post is threaded versus using a pin to hold it in place? For that matter, any reason to be concerned about this (or the "Elite" version) being made of cast aluminum?
BTW, the jack stand mentioned in Jeff's thread is a "Torin", not Turin, in case anyone is trying to find it.
Can you not use the conventional jacks with the pucks??
I was thinking about buying some pucks, but now I might just keep doing it the way I have been doing it all along.
Yes, you can use conventional jacks with the pucks, but my concern is wanting to use jack stands with a circular contact point to them, as opposed to the Y or V shaped stands.
