Cant afford? That is a bold statement.
How about do 12 hours of research (while at work getting paid) and find the best detector like they did in the link. Thats why I got the BEL.

You guys say what you want but my Bel 955 STi is 10 years old and I have not gotten a speeding ticket in that time. It has always warned me in time to save mt Azz. It detects front/rear and laser just like the newer V1 and Escort.

HUH? Fictionland? Silly comment indeed!

The V1 is very thorough, thats why I have one. Others work well also, for me, I like to see where the threat is by the arrows

I use a small compact $65 Cobra, some common sense and observation of other cars and never get tickets. Save your $300 and buy an inexpensive radar detector and drive somewhat defensively. Many consumer reports I have read do not rate the V1, BEL or Escort worth $300 - $400 more in terms of detection vs a $65 unit.

Just my thoughts, don't dhoot me.

I have an old V1 which has been great. I will probably upgrade it's software and buy a new one in addition.
