Neewbi here. This may have been asked before but I couldn't find anything on it.
I've always liked the C5 Z06. In particular white Z06's which from my understanding were only made in 2001. So if a person owned a 2001 Z06 what mod's would one have to make to it to get the performance of a '02-'04 Z06 (405HP) or a new C6 - 400 HP (non z06 of course).
What are some of the prices one should expect to pay to do these mods?
Lastly, how could one know for sure that the oil problem had been fixed.
My 01 Z with a Halltech Stinger, 03 Z06 catted h-pipe, and B&B catback dynoed at 363rwhp recently. Puts it right around what an 02-04 Z dynos at. Cost....$200 for the Halltech, $100 for the h-pipe from a local member, and $550 for the catback (more for sound than power, so you can skip this mod.) Dyno graph in signature.
service record might show you if the oil consumption was done, if it was done at a dealership. If it wasnt done at a dealer ship then i would expect to see paper work for it being done.
2001 is the only year if you want white. You can make up the difference. I know the exhaust is different (4 cats vs 2) and so is the cam and valve trane. If you are planning to do a cam and exhaust anyway you should be really close.
