Had 3.90 gears and a Yank 3200 coverter installed a couple of months ago. Ever since, have heard a high pitched whine on acceleration. Pitch gets higher as RPMs increase until overtaken by sound of exhaust. Sounds similar to engine noise transmitting through stereo speakers. Guys at the shop that did the install say it's not the gears or the converter, but they hear whine also. They think it is something electrical, although definitely not coming through speakers.
It could still be the gears. Are they new or used? Did you break them in correctly?
Gears are brand new. Shop that purchased and installed for me is well known and highly respected. They seem pretty certain it's not the gears. What could I have done wrong during break-in?
