I have the brake light red letters on the butt of my car. How do you get the sticky stuff out of the letters.

Kona!
I used Boo Be Gone... it came in a spray bottle, but it's pretty much a gel. Let it sit for a few minutes and then work the residue out.
I twisted a terry cloth towel and finished up using a twisting motion. The goop in the corners of the letters just takes a little more time/patience.

EDIT::::
I meant
GOO Be Gone.... they only sell Boo Be Gone around Halloween...

If you are saying that you removed the stick-on letters and want to remove the glue residue from the factory letter impression on the rear fascia then I would tell you to pick up some "goof-off", it's designed to remove glue and tar residues as well as paint overspray or other like materials. It will not harm your paint so long as you wash and wax (protect) the area in question right after using it. You could also try WD-40, it will also remove most adhesives from a painted surface.
Best of Luck to you!

I've always had good luck with WD-40.

WD-40 has worked for me removing a lot of nasty stuff. I'd certainly give it a try.
