Cleaned my Blackwing...WOW!
I kept putting it off, not to mention it didn't look very dirty to me. I feel like I picked up 20 HP! And the idle is so SMOOTH! If you haven't done yours in a while, just do it.

I hate to admit it...probably 15k. This was my first cleaning. It just never looked dirty and I don't drive dirt roads at all. I couldn't believe the fine dirt coming out when I did the rinse from the inside of the filter. I am a convert!

Joe - if you are going to clean your Blackwing - use only the Blackwing cleaning kit. DO NOT USE a cleaning kit for a K&N Filter.
"The Blackwing uses 100% synthetic filtration media called Synteq. The fibers are extremely uniform and very small, allowing the filter to flow more air and trap smaller particles than do ordinary cotton and oiled-cotton "performance" filters. The Blackwing also features an exclusive flow indicator that changes color when cleaning is required."
The K&N and other washable/reusable filters are simple cotton fibers and the oil that is used is different than the one for the Blackwing.
