The first mod. I did on my 99'FRC and 03'ZO6. A real pain in the azz with a tractor trailer bearing down on you at an intersection. You can buy the eliminator, or LS1edit, EFIlive or HP Tuners can defeat it. As said above, to avoid the gas guzzler tax. If you ask me, I call it unsafe to leave the skip shift in place.

What I found was although annoying at first, once you learn the Z06 systems and how to engage the horsepower of the car, you will find that the skip shift won't be an aggrevation any longer. Good luck and have fun.

I didnt think i had that light until it popped up on me in traffic 3 years after i bought the car. from what ive gathered there are 3 factors , rpm,throttle position,and mph. as someone mentioned if you drive it right you will never see it. And your rings will seat.
