Default Please explain GMPP

If I buy an 03-04 C5 that still has factory warranty.....How do I go about getting it certified? Do I have to go through a dealer? I want to get the GMPP, who is forum member who does the best quotes?
Please feel free to share any of your wisdom in this matter.

You don't need to "certify" your car perse. The GMPP is an extended warranty. It will prolong the coverage and is one of the best warranty plans out there IMHO.

Send an email to Dennis Fichtner

gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com

He will answer all of your questions and his GMPP pricing is among the best around.

This is the guy to call. Just make sure you do it before your factory warranty expires.

Beware of GMPP.GMPP SUCKS!! There are better warranty companies out there, that have better coverage at a lower price. Do your research before you make a mistake. I have GMPP on my vette, however, I wish I had done more investigating before I bought it.. Read the fine Print.. The part that is worn out will be replaced. Sounds good right? The 3-4 clutch paks went south on my transmission at 38,000 miles. GMPP would only replace the worn out Clutch paks, not the whole transmission. The Dealer recommended a new trans and said this was just a Band Aid fix. Sure enough the Transmission failed again 4 weeks later.. Scotch Taped together per GMPP again then failed again 3 weeks later. Finally after bitching they put in a Brand New Tranny, which was what the Dealership recommended in the first place. The whole ordeal was a nightmare for me as well as the Dealership, fighting with GMPP. So remember if you throw a rod GMPP will replace the Rod only and nothing else. What a joke.. I bought an extended Warranty on my own from Warranty Direct, for my wifes 2001 Infinity 1 week after I bought it. Just call them, answer some questions and they will warranty it, no inspection or certifications necessary. Bing, Bang, Thank you mam. Much Much better policy, they warranty items such as upholestry and much more than GMPP.. You will pay less $$$ and have much better coverage. DO YOUR RESEARCH. I learned the hardway. This company has been around for a long time and definately is one of the best http://warrantydirect.com/ There are several other good extended waranty companies and lots of fly by night ones also. GMPP sucks. Do a search on this site and you will learn what I learned the hardway.. Remember to read the fine print and ask questions

Warranty direct does not cover Z06, what's up with that? GMPP it is. Ive heard much more success stories with GMPP and have had experience with extended warranties for my work, working with the factory is a lot easier on everyone and you know the parts are OE instead of what some aftermarket company found in some junkyard. And being a service advisor I know my service advisor much rather work wtih factory then argue and wait for inspectors to come out to approve repairs.

So I emailed Dennis about GMPP, and you can get this warranty for ANY brand car....amazing. Anyways, he was telling me to go ahead and get it before 24,000 miles, bc the rates double, and then when you hit 32,000, they triple...something to that effect.
My thinking is that this is flawed.....follow this example. I am about to buy an 04 CTS-V with 23xxx miles. If I spend 1200 bucks now, for 48/48/0$ ... I basically have coverage for two years and 20k miles AFTER the caddy's factory warranty is up. Even in the rates double....I will be able to buy a 2yr/24mo GMPP near the end of the factory warranty around that same 1200 figure.
