Default ZO6 as a daily driver?

I spoke with a guy at a reputable used corvette dealership in Atlanta and I told him that the ZO6 would be my daily driver and his reponse made it seem as though that was the most redicuous thing he had ever heard. I was wondering if it was really that absurd of an idea...

I only drive 30 miles a day; most of which are interstate. Am I an idiot?

My Z06 is my daily driver... Commute to work is around 36 miles round trip, usually 30-45mins each way.

I do not see the 'horror' in having a Z as a daily... I'm getting my monthly payment's worth driving it every day

Plus it makes the commute fun, and easy to deal with Atlanta's crazy rush hour

Although I don't use mine as a daily driver, it could certainly be used as one with no problems at all. Easy to drive (get rid of CAGS if you plan to DD), great gas mileage, and TONS of fun. You'll be smiling a lot more if you daily drive a Z06, and will be in a much better mood too.

I use mine as a daily driver (35 miles each way) and I don't have a single problem with doing so. I didn't buy the car to sit in a garage.

Daily drive my 01 z and it is great. I do have access to a host of other vehicles which helps through family and friends ... IMO its a great thing. If you daily drive it, and IMO even if you don't, get the frame savers and rocker rails from A&A .. was one of my first mods and helps in day to day driving a lot.

Pick it up and enjoy .. who are you saving it for?

Not a problem at all. And a good weapon of choice to deal with Atlanta drivers. You point and shoot, they're helpless.

04 Z06 is my daily driver and I enjoy the heck out of it.

I don't see what the hoopla is. Yes, it is a standard. (so is my daughter's Miata) Yes, it is low (so was my wife's 94 Legend). Other than that, no difference other than merging on a freeway ramp is so much more fun!!

Actually, my daughter gives me a hard time about how easy my car is to drive. Her opinion is that such a powerful auto ought to not be as forgiving.....

No Tyler, you are not an idiot.

A C5 Z06 makes a fine daily driver, and you will see upwards of 30mpg on the highway.

Tires are expensive, but the car is very civilized for street use.

It can accelerate like a beast, but it also is a fine daily driver.

best regards -

I live in Atlanta and have an 03 Z, I hate to drive on 285 / 85 / 75 and the Ga. 400. Those people seem to have a death wish. I use my big F-150 pick-up out there. Only thing that bullies me is the 16 wheelers. The Z picks up too much cop attention and if we are all running in a pack at 90mph or so (typical speeds on these roads) I am the one they target and pull over. When I say, "why me everyone was doing 95mph" the cop smirks and says "Because I got you" This red vette must catch his eye. He also said the police would like to have it for a "pursuit car" !
