Default Protecting the Vert Top today ...

I am off from work today and used this rainy PA morning to apply Raggtopp to my light oak vert top. I was able to get a good cleaning in on Sunday and have had the car garaged since.

I used some old bed sheets and painters tape to cover the paint and windows. I was surprised how easy this process was with a little planning ...

3 coats of Raggtopp applied - almost the whole can! How long should this last me? Car is garaged when not in use and driven about 3000 miles a year in bad and good weather. A little rain doesn't hold me back.

Anyways, I thought I would share in case anyone is looking for a quick way to apply the Raggtopp protectant.

Cheers!

What was the final outcome? Did you notice any appearance diff?
My vert top stays clean with just "normal" washings. Do you think this treatment extended the tops life?
Just want to hear from an actual user. Thanks

This is defiinitely on my list of things to do. I have a couple of small spots where some sap was on my shale top. Did you use the cleaner first, or just the protectant?

It sure can't hurt, but my experience is normal washings is the best way to extend the life. What causes the most damage to tops is dirt grinding into the fabric when the top is down. Those who wash their tops a lot will have less wear.

I should last at least a full season if not more...
Mine which was done last year still shows complete water repellency( water beads up) except the first inch at the front and the bottom 1 inch on the rear ( the two areas that get occassional car wash soap on them)...
10 K miles of rain and shine driving and counting....

Raggtopp is truly an awesome product.

When the cleaner is applied, the dirt litterly r-u-n-s away. Even if you think your top is clean, Raggtopp will make it cleaner. I don't think it would be a good idea to apply the water repellant/protector without first cleaning the top. Elsewise you are just protecting dirt. The key to applying the protectant is to make sure the top is 110% DRY before you apply the protectant.....or you will end up with ugly white spots all over your top when it does dry. I also don't think it is necessary to apply the contents of both bottles in the Raggtopp kit for a C5 top. Even if the top is dirty, half the bottle when used according to the instructions should be plenty. Like wise with the protectant. I do concur with protecting the glass and car surfaces before spraying the protectant. I found the cleaner to be completely compatable with all surfaces.

When you order the product, make sure you specify vinyl or cloth based on your individual application.
