The competition has improved too! Hence no "easy wins" anymore. I think it makes the feeling of winning more important when you beat a worthy foe though!

It's not so much the improvement to the competition as it is the fact that the ALMS has the Corvette dragging around extra weight and running with a restrictor plate.

I think the other manufacturers need to step up their game instead of ALMS holding the C6R back.

The Corvettes are getting penalized for winning too much, what BS! I thought if you are in second place you are supposed to try harder.
They're doing the same thing to Audi - who has stated that it's costing them around a second per lap and if it continues into next season, they will not return.
EDIT: Dr Wolfgang Ullrich (Head of Audi Motorsport): "To us, the recent regulation changes made by IMSA appear to have been made at random and are unjustified. A year ago hardly anybody could believe that it would be possible to win a race with a diesel powered sportscar. We demonstrated that it is feasible, and thanks to ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ we produced the world’s most state-of-the-art LM P1. We can not accept that our life will now be made artificially difficult. Audi, the manufacturer, which has supported and promoted the ALMS for years and helped to make it what it is today, will only continue its American Le Mans Series programme if there are again stable and consistent rules, like at Le Mans, which also contribute towards justifying manufacturer’s involvement and expenditure.”
If Corvette Racing has ***** - they should toss them on the table as well. And if Aston Martin really believes in racing, they should also back that movement. Racing is about building the fastest machine within the class rules in order to win consistently - not restricting the winner until he cannot win in order to give someone else a turn.

I guess they're trying the "no car left behind" act.

its happens every where. Where we have to help out the stragglers in society in some way.
I'm going totally off subject here but, we have illegals here two towns over who look for work. The township built a covered area, and paved parking lot so that they have a safe place to wait for contractors. Where they were gathering in town on Main street, was becoming very crowded. Anyway, it was built out of township funds/taxpayer money, and this mornings paper reported that the illegals weren't happy with it because its too out of the way in an industrial park WTF?

and, they complain when there are no bi-lingual signs.
I guess whether it's life or racing, the guy in front is always helping those less fortunate.
I agree. It isn't the C6R is inferior to the C5R. Both are very good. In ALMS the boys are taking it in the shorts with "rewards". Weight and restrictor plates. And they are factory backed.
In Speed GT the C6 (LGM, Banner, etc.) are taking the same crap with restrictor and weight. Their case gets worse because they are "privateers" who are giving the factory backed teams a lot of grief. They have no clout at all compared to factory teams. So SCCA is trying to fix it... and I use that term loosely...
