If I were to buy a used car with a GMPP warranty, do I have the option of buying back the warranty? I would be the third owner of the vehicle. I know most aftermarket warranty companies allow this, but GM?????
...I just did it, requires a form/phone call and transfer fee. You'll receive documentation in your name in a few days.
Im not talking about transferring it, Im talking about getting a refund to cancel it. Sorry if I didnt make that more clear...I meant 'buy back', as in GM buys the warranty back...
...you might contact Jason at ROSS DOWNING or Dennis at FICHNER, both are quite knowledgable about the GMPP warranty programs. Both have been recommended in past discussions. If you do a search under either name, you should come up with phone/e-mail or someone will chime in.
I know the original owner of the '04 Z16 which I purchased in June '06 had that option to sell the remaining contract back to GMPP. I got it in the purchase price instead.

Here's a thought. How about just directly calling GMPP in Chicago to ask the question. I had occasion to call them about a year ago and the customer service people are very friendly and helpful. The number is 800 631-5590. I'm sure they would be happy to address your question.

Good to go directly to the source for your answer.
