Default Z06 prices

What prices have you seen lately for a 01-02 Z06 with either high or low miles. They seem to be all over the place here in Chicago. wondering if its wort it to fly out and bring one back home. I have less than 25k to spend should I wait till winter and start looking hard core. I want any color except yellow. would love a 02 QS with red and black leather seats.

post up what you have seen lately. The z06 and regular C5 prices have caught up now, why would anyone want a regular C5 when a zo6 is with in a few grand? guess some people dont like the FRC, I my self would love to have a removalbe roof for the summer wish the zo6 had that option.

Prices are generally too high for the performance advantage offered imho. For $1300 you can have z06 springs shocks and sway bars, and for another $600-1300 you can have full long tube headers and do a little programming ($400 Predator) and a Vararam for $325, and you have very near (or better) than z06 performance for an additional $3300 (not including the labor that you put in of course) on the price of any c5.

food for thought.

Not quite....you still would not have the weight savings, the increased body stiffness, the M12 transmission and alot more that was factory stock on the Z.

Heres one reason why.......many Vette owners or potential Vette owners do not want a Corvette that you cannot take the top off of. It gives the "closed in feeling" . We need to have the open air running all over and throughout the inside and not be cooped up all of the time. Also, lots of us do not need to go faster than a stock Corvette will go...in speed or acceleration. Many of us are content with a Corvette because of the looks and stock power that they came with originally...

you may have a point with the weight, but that can be addressed with no money expenditure at all. As far as the stiffness is concerned, my ss tunnel plate reinforment and my 4pt. (soon to be 5pt.) rollbar provide stiffness far superior to a stock z06... -no the roll bar wasn't included in my 3300 figure...sorry, and neither was the tunnel brace...

The fact that you can do this to a convertible, and an automatic transmissioned car made this my chosen path.

--to anyone with a disparaging comment regarding automatic transmissions: jet fighter planes don't need to shift a transmission and row a clutch, neither do I... not that I wouldn't like a 6 speed, but an auto is just fine for my only vette.
