Check out the chrome wheels from Corvettes of Houston. I have not purchased but I feel exactly the way you do, and from all the threads I've read the guys that bought from there have had no problems. Plus there a good price.
I just bought my first Vette a few months ago and three of the wheels have curb rub/rash. I still have not rubbed a curb but cannot say for sure that I wouldn't within three years which is what most chromes are warrantied for. As silly as it may sound, it might pay to buy the cheaper wheels, especially if you might replace them more than normal. Have you figured out what size rim/tires you're going with? Good luck. Al
