I'm still messin around with this 04 Spiral Gray cope auto. The service records have been pulled from a generous member here and showed a few minor things , car is straight , some stone chips on front , bit thats it.
SO is it really nessessary to sign up and do a Carfax , I mean what can I really get off of it that would help with an 04. I even had a body & paint guy look at it . I've used it in the past , really did'nt tell me anything.
I know its against the rules, so wanted to get your opinion on it because I too think its BS , if its not reported it wont show up. If I wrecked my Cobra and took it to a body shop it would'nt show up as being damaged.
Are auction cars a bad thing to buy ?? Like when a dealer buys one at an auction and puts it up for sale , maybe a fleet or leased vehicle or maybe a private owner vehicle , you still cant really contact the owner with his or her opinion of the car and if they had any trouble with it ?
Most of the time the info in a carfax report is pretty useless ...
As for auction cars ... you have to know what you are getting into there, cars are anywhere from junk to almost new ... A dealer friend of mine bought me an 01' mag red coupe, 45K mi, auto, loaded, 1 owner, lease return ... for just over 20K

The report is only as good as the information suppliedand that mades this service a loser but there is information that can be little helpful. The information is the state registration and mileage. Look at areas thhat may have been flood or car that started in Florida and ended up in PA. would be careful of dealers that do not offer a warranty on cars sold, go to dealers that sell vettes and not just once in a while. Good Luck get it to a good mechanic, and check the know problems of a vette
Going to a GM dealer and running the car's serial number is a good idea. I paid for a Carfax too (kind of useless), but got way more info from the dealership!
