Does the Computer give Service interval Warnings?

Does the Computer give Service interval Warnings?
Does the Instrument Panel Display give warnings when its time to do a service? Such as the 60k service?
I went and checked the DTC codes, and I have NO CURRENT codes. A few history codes, but nothing interesting.
I was wondering because the Chevrolet dealer said that there is a warning for the 60k service, and they CLAIMED to reset it when I did the service. But I just got it today while driving, I hit reset.. and havent seen it since, even if I restart the car.
Anyhow, I just bought the HUGE 3 volume manuals, and heres what I found.
- There is in fact a service recommended at 60k miles
- My dealer said they reset this message
- NOWHERE in the manuals does it say that it gives a warning to do services, at least that I could find.
Thanks for any help. I saw this warning about a week ago. So I hit reset.. and it was gone.. till today.
My car is a '98 with 59,942 miles on it.

unless perhaps he is talking about resetting the Oil Life Monitor if he included oil/filter in the service.
