I was busy modding my 2000 MN6 Pewter Coupe. The Hurst shifter I ordered from Corvettes of Houston arrived Friday along with the classic **** from Summit. Got very good directions from this link:http://www.spdkilz.com/techtiphurst.html
The only problem was getting the demon key out of the old ****, I tried prying but it did not budge..so I drilled a small hole in the center and screwed in my old dent puller and out she came! Here it is installed. Works great, nice short shifts. Upon driving it today however I came off the parkway and could not get it in 1st...or any other top gear (3,5 or rev.) Duh, I assumed the stop screws were tight from the factory and they were not, so apart the car came again today to fix. I am getting very good at taking the console out though!
Also painted my FRC's....sanded them smooth, primed, sanded again and shot with Duplicolor T408 (pewter metallic). Was a very good match and very inexpensive ( cheap)

I simply entered the vette in a couple local car shows. Nothin' special.

I can't believe so many people have so much trouble w/ the shift **** "demon" key. All it takes is two smallish flat head screw drivers and some paper towels to protect the stock **** if you care about it. Put one blade under each "wing" of the key and pry up. It pops out w/ ease.
Party friday night at friends house, then large 3000gt/Stealth dyno day yesterday, clubbing last night, working on car more today.
Gave Jenine a "bath" Saturday morning, then did some errands while combining that with a cruise around Bucks County, PA. Today will be more cruisin' around Princeton. Fabulous weather this weekend.
Just got back from breakfast 2 hours late!
Battery went dead in the restaurant parking lot when we were ready to leave. And I mean DEAD! No nothing. I never had a battery die without some hint of warning. It was so dead that I thought someone stole the dammed thing! It started up just fine at the house. Well it was the original OEM battery and it was 4 years old so figured it's time was up.
Went back inside and started asking around if anyone might have jumpers. A "Good Samaritan" had a set. We gave it a shot but to no avail. Just got the loud clicking noise. I needed a new battery.
The Good Samaritan actually took the time and drove me to to Checker Auto Parts to buy a new battery. $169. plus tax later we were on our way back to the restaurant with a new Exide Orbital battery.
Popped that thing in there and Vaarrooom! Back in business!
There are some nice people out there!
Sat went to the Wash. State vs U of Idaho game about 80 miles from home. All two lane roads you have to pretty much just follow the leader because of curves and you aren't going anywhere fast because of all the people going to the game. Speed limit is 60 but of course you have those going 50 then 55 then 60 then back to 50+....
Anyway had to pass a few just to enjoy the ride when the time was right. Drop my A4 into 3rd, the corsa's roar! and i look down after a couple cars and doing 82 before i know it.....look for a spot to pull in....touch the brakes and the car slows down as fast as it took off....
Always leave myself some margin for oncoming traffic but these cars are amazing in the the way they accelerate and brake...some fun....WSU won 56-10. Seahawks beat Detroit today.....
Now watching Dallas & Jax, Drew Bledsoe was a WSU quarterback a few years ago. Be interesting to see how he and Terrell O get along..two different types....
Well, yesterday, I made an appointment (for this upcoming Wednesday) with my local Goodyear dealer to swap-out my OEM 'wagon' wheels with the set of OEM Y2K tires/wheels that I purchased from a fellow forum member. Then I unpacked the 'like new' OEM center console lid/armrest that I purchased at a 'killer deal' via a popular auction site...I'll be installing it this evening when it's somewhat cooler outside. Finally, I continued the tedious job of removing the remaining old automotive 3M tape from the backside of the 'BSM' - which I purchased from another fellow forum member. It's a long tedious task, and all of my fingers have blisters from trying to roll that stuff off after heating up sections of the old tape with a heat gun. Since I'm also one of those unfortunate ones who's forced to test my blood sugar 3x daily, my finger tips are already sore enough.

Didn't do much this weekend. Was going to a car show on Friday night, but about 15 miles down the road it was raining, so ruined those plans. Missed two other car shows this weekend because of things that needed to be done around the house.
