Default LED signal conversion

for those of you who have converted your turn signals to LED bulbs (not the complete unit) did you have to use a resistor to prevent the "double flash"?

if so which one did you use?

i'll put up a reply i just sent on this subject. i do not remember the forum member's name who came up with this, so if he reads this maybe he can chime in.

you have to take a factory-style bulb connector (i imagine you can get them at pep boys) and splice it in to the original connector.

you then put a factory bulb in the connector. this way the load on the system will once again be a stock value and the flasher will not think a bulb has burned out like it does now with the low current that is drawn by the LEDs.

you then spray paint the bulb black so it will work but will not shine. then take a zip tie and tie the spliced harness in with the stock wiring so it's not dangling in the rear facia.

repeat this with the other side. i heard that you only need one bulb per side and not 2. the original poster who came up with this idea said that he did it and it solved his fast flash issue.

i take no credit for this nor can i verify that it works, but it sure sounds like it would be worthwhile if your LEDs flash fast all the time.

give it a shot.
