I've poked around in C5 Tech and C5 General, and can't find any threads on how to turn off the DTRLs on my 03 Z. I read if fuse #2 goes the lights go out, but so do the back-up lights.
I believe there is a simple way and it has to do with the e-brake. I read somewhere (and I'm trying to remember how many clicks) that if you pull your e-brake up 3 clicks then start your car, your DRL's should be disabled until the next time you shut your car down and start it back up, unless you start it again with 3 clicks to the e-brake. Again, not sure, but I believe it's 3 clicks...

Is there a simple way to turn them off?

If you hate DRLs you can pull the e-brake ONE click and they go off
No pull the #2 fuse. The backup lights only go off if you're using the approach lights feature on the fob. I've had mine out for over 2 years. When the car is actually in reverse they still work.
Also, the turn signals work correctly and when the headlights are on the orange front lights come on as well.
I like these lights but only because they are not the headlights as some other cars use. When I was a kid we used to run our courtesy lights because it made our cars looks so much cooler, especially in the early evening.
They get set on or off thru the DIC option 4 function button. Just get to that and turn them on or off there.
hmmm... not in my '01 they don't. The only reason I have them off is beacuse I have black lenses in mine. No point in blacking out the lenses if you're going to let light shine through.
pull up e-brake 1 click and then turn on key and they will stay off until next time, i like mine on in traffic so helps avoid idiots trying to hit me i hope off (turn on parking lites for stealthier look as they are lot dimmer in day) and off on freeway to keep lower profile for ***wipes with nothing better to do but boast revenue with a radar gun. i support the police but not **** tactics like radar guns, redlite cameras etc. catch the real criminals before going after traffic offenders.
I agree with cobrb4. All you have to do is remove fuse #2 and DRL are off and all other lights function as normal while driving your vette. The only diffrence is when you have approach approach your vette. You don't get your backup lites to illuminate when you approach your vette
