One of the problems that I have noticed in my C5 is that when I try to start the car from first gear, it brings my shifter back (it bounces back to me). I was reading the manual and it does specify something like this.. Is this normal in a car? do I have to get used to it before I get it right.
sounds like stripped gears. my old prelude used to do that. correct me if im wrong guys, but that is defenitely what was wrong with me, does it jump out of gear during normal driving? like youre doing 45 in 3rd and all of a sudden BOOM i t shoots to neutral? if so then its the gears
I always found when that happens, that it was never fully in gear in the first place. Used to happen in my 2000 camaro SS alot. Happened a couple times in the Z.

Thanks
That's pretty normal for all stck shifts, and is just the way it is and always has been.
Try to put it in first before you come to a complete stop.
Or, put it in third and then first. Never FORCE it. If worst comes to worst and you just NEED to go, drop it in second and feather the clutch a little more.
