Need opinion on interior mod
I am contemplating purchase of a vette which has a "wood grain" interior.
I am not sure if I like it or not so before I buy it I was wondering if anyone knows what it might cost to restore it to original.
Here's the link as I do not know how to add pictures. Will learn but am pressed for time now. It was easier to post it to my photo album online.
Thanks for any input and assistance.

It's all in the beholder, but I think I would tire of it in time.

I've seen this wood grain before, in my opinion the stock parts are better looking.

I'm not a fan of wood grain interior on a Vette. Nn a luxury car, it's fine but not in a sports car.

Everyone complains about the C5 interior but I've always liked it. I personally don't like those stick on wood panels. I would remove them if I were you.

Yeah, it kind of looks out of place. Isn't that just a plasticized veneer that is secured by pressure sensitive(?) adhesive? It should come off but may take a bit of effort to peel it away. Lots of time and a solvent like naptha or WD 40 to loosen the adhesive. Get an edge free and work the solvent under veneer, let sit til adhsive loosens, peel and repeat. Seems time consuming.

Hi tavaresv -
It is simple a stick-on kit - it would only cost time to remove it - which I would do almost immediately.
best regards -

it will probibly take 1 hour to remove the wood grain and get the residue up as well but you can always add accent pieces like door grips stickers center console there is so much stuff out there

If it's as easy as people say to remove it, don't let that stop you from buying. Use it as a sales pitch against the price.

I never thought I'd say I liked black plastic...but over simulated wood grain.
It "dates" a car. Use it to convince the seller to reduce the price.
Now, if you were talking about crushed velvet...

Thanks for all the input so far.
How about if I hang some dice on the mirror? And a dog with a head that goes up and down in the trunk area?

HEY!! There's nothing wrong with dice on the mirror - the bigger and fuzzier the better!
