We had a great time at Vettes at Capitol yesterday. Ranger ran an 11.29 I think and someone in a red Z06 beat the one lone Viper RT10 that showed up. My son helped me detail the Z so well that we actually left with some hardware. Next year I'm going to skip the show and try the track. The weather was great and there were so many awesome cars there. I met several new friends including one who was a recent bronze star winner. First pic is of my son and I leaving for the show and the second is of our car shot from the bleachers.
Looking good Steve!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I wasn't able to make it out, between my bum wing, and the car in pieces, the cards just were not stacked in my favor!!! What place trophy did u win?
Joe, sorry you didn't make it up. What an incredible day weather wise. I finished just out of the medals - 4th place. They gave out eight places though so I feel pretty good about it. So any hints on what you're doing to the Z?
I must have walked right by your car about 4 times on sunday, and twice while you and your son were sitting behind it. I am so sorry I did not say hi Anyways it looked great, I loved the fat tires out back, thats what I kept checking into LOL. Anyways sorry I missed you and I hope to meet you soon!
The DA for racing and new bests was terrible. On street tires the best I could do yesterday was a 12.62@112 with a 1.96 60" . My timeslips say track temp was 98 degrees! Maybe Ranger can chime in here with the DA at around 2 p.m. that day.

Great to see and visit a bit with folks in the pitd.
DA throughout the day was 2200-2400 feet. Actual air temp was 82-83 degrees, measured in the shade via my wx station.

Andy
Andy, sorry we didn't get the chance to meet. Those fat tires are Nitto 555 RII Extremes in 305. They're awesome and a great improvement over the stock supercars. I know what you mean about the DA issue. It didn't help that there was a delay because of the FUBAR staging lights that moved the start of racing out beyond high noon. I hope to get my car on the track one Friday evening soon when the temps are more reasonable. Since I live close to Capitol I can go on short notice. I noticed that Ranger had what looked like a carpet drying fan sucking the heat out of his engine compartment. Dude brings science to drag racing.
Oh yeah - it's ON! I'm mulling over dropping a 27" plasma in the back and lambo doors with ghost flames just to keep up... Here's a the direction I'm heading...

Hmm.... I could choose a lot of words to describe that mess. I think I'll try to stay P.C. and go with "Ghetto fabulous!"
