i really don't know too much about c5 corvettes. i have been a c4 guy for years but tomorrow my wife is letting me get a newer one. i can choose between a 2001 base coupe with 28k or a 2002 Z06 with 23k. the difference in monthly payments is about $85/month. would the Z06 be worth the extra $$ per month?
really depends on what you like. I enjoy being able to take the roof off myself thats what kept my away from the z06. If thats not a big deal to you go for the z06

I would get the Z06 and never look back I have a coupe and have only taken the top off a few times so that doesnt really matter to me. I wish I would have gone with the extra HP over the removable top.
Don't rule out a convertible either, after having verts, I would never own a hard top, even to race with(I do) if the car will be on the street at all.

If you can afford the extra $, go for the Z06. The extra power can be intoxicating. But like most things, it depends on what your real needs are for a car.
If you have to ask the question, I would suggest the coupe. $85/month for how many months? You can always buy more power/handling if you think you need it. Have you driven either one?
