I am getting ready to replace the clutch in my 01 coupe. I figure since I rarely (actually never so far) go to the track and the car is my daily driver, I will just go with the LS7 clutch. I have a couple questions though... since this is the first time I have had to get a clutch replaced.
Does a new throw out bearing come with the clutch assembly? I plan on ordering the LS7 kit from Fred Beans, but I want to make sure I order everything I need.
Second, I plan on replacing the slave cylinder while I am having this done, but to use the LS7 clutch do I also have to replace the master cylinder?
Yeah, I am having a shop do the install.. my father-in-law works there so I am still trying to get him to price the parts for me. I figure they can get them cheaper than I can, but I want to make sure they install the parts I want (ie- not just another stock LS1 clutch) so I am trying to do my homework and if I have to I will buy the parts.
Although im currently having a little issue with my pedal feeling soft and it has stuck a couple times, I still dont think its my new LS7 clutch itself. I have about 1200 miles on it
I might be wrong, but I think its my Mcleods adjustable master cyclinder, or maybe a little air pocket. The clutch grabs great as far as im concerned. I only use the car on the weekends so I havent given to much effort to see what the problem might be.
