If you can't get it repaired in time, take it to the show and do up a really nice sign that says, "This damage can be cured far more easily than can Breast Cancer." Maybe everyone will get the message.

Or the sign could say "Look what my stupid husband did!" ha ha- sorry about your cars, but they can be fixed!
That sucks, and it is even more painful knowing that it is your fault. Sorry to hear about it. One piece of advice, if the rear SMC is cracked on the drivers side, I would definitely replace the whole section. I had a 88 C4 vert that someone ran up on the hood and cracked it. The insurance company wouldn't pay to replace the whole hood, which was $1800.00. I had the crack fixed and you could still see where it was. They did it 2 times and could never get it right. SMC is very hard to repair.

Update on stupid is as stupid does
My insurance company is Safeco, and by 2:30 PM today (just over 24 hours after "the incident") I had a check in my hands, and the body shop was on the phone ordering the parts. The adjuster negotiated some of the pricing with the body shop and cut a check in less than 45 minutes. Safeco's service is definately the best. I've never had a claim with them before, but they beat the heck out of some of my previous companies.
The guy at the body shop will try to have her car done by the car show, but no guarantees. We'll see.
I'm a little less freaked out now...I guess everything will work out. Wifey is being a great sport about all this...guess I'll keep her.
Oh, I know that this probably should have been on the C4 forum, but I'm used to being on the C5, and am more comfortable here. Sorry if it offends anyone, and thanks for the support.

This is why they are called accidents - I'm sure you didn't do it intentionally. We've all done things in haste - and had to pay the price for those misjudgements. Your wife sounds like a great lady - and I wish her the best of luck with her events, and with her pride and joy. I'm sure it will look like it never happened.
