I have owned a C4 for 3 years and about 2 weeks ago purchased my C5. It is a 2002 triple Black with 4,000 miles and I found it within 6 miles from home. How lucky can a person be?
I made the same move, from a C4 (that I thoroughly enjoyed) to a C5. Also chose a 2002 because all the running fixes are there, the oil consumption issues in the 2001 were fixed; but the EPA had not yet forced GM to downgrade the FI system and put the fuel filter INSIDE the fuel tanks. Having changed a few filters in more than 40 years of owning and driving cars, I did not relish the idea of dropping the tanks to do so. The 2002 and early '03 cars are also easier to mod than the late 03 and 04 C5s, with the downgraded FI system.
Whether by luck or careful research, ya done good!!!
