I was browsing around on eBay last night (Yeah, I know, get a life on Friday night) and came across a listing from Decal Specialties for a hood liner logo decal for $41.95 + $6.50 shipping. Sounds pretty far out to me. Has anyone had any experience with this product?
Found this for you however I just painted mine and it looks great, PICs later.

New liner @ $110 + decals @ $50 = $160
New Embroidered liner is about @350-$400.
Am I understanding this correctly?
I need a new liner and am just wondering the best way to go for longevity.
That is correct. If you are good with paint, you can buy some paint and do the logo yourself. Here's a handy link with detailed instructions.
I know others have had no problem with this, I followed the directions, it was a pain to keep smooth when using the heat gun, mine came off on one side the first day I drove with it, will try to paint the hood pad this weekend.
If you take your time and follow the instructions, you should have no problem with the decal. Mine's been on for over a year, and shows no sign of coming off. The rest of the hoodliner doesn't look too good in this picture - taken right after the car came out of storage in March.. Evidently I had some sort of a leak, but after a touchup of Rustoleum satin black paint, it was as good as new, and I took awards at a few shows over the Summer.
My decal is from Decal Specialities. I followed the directions closely and I have had no problems with peeling or discoloring. The decal has been on the car for nearly one year.
Nice product with no problems and it was just fine for the money. I just wanted a better look since the OEM liner is so cheap and thin looking. I show my car so was looking for a better finished look. I choose the new embrod. liner. which is quite a bit more $ but more of a permanent investment.

I bought and installed the decal from the same vendor. I used hi temp flat black spray paint made for bbq grills to prep the liner. I then followed the installation instructions and used a heat gun to bond the decal to the liner. It's been on for about 3 weeks and still looks great. I have driven the car quite a bit of time during this period.
Dave at Decal Specialties is a great guy I'm sure if you have any problems with his items he would take care of it. I have bought a lot from him over the last few years and have never been let down.
Thanks for all the comments. I was skeptical when I first saw the listing on eBay. A decal under the hood on a cloth hood liner sounds like trouble, but it sounds like several of you have had some pretty positive results. I'm not sure what I'll do under the hood, but I will consider this option.

I initially bught one off Decal Specialties (Dave is a good guy to deal with) but then I went with an embroidered cover and as the black part of my liner was really faded..might be something to consider depending on the shape of your liner.
It depends on your budget of how much you want to spend. I went with the Car Motorsports embroidered hoodliner, Very good product and looks even better in person vs pictures. I haven't seen the decal in person but several people on the forum have posted good things. I will post you a few pics of mine I just put in so you can get an idea what route you want to go. Is the hoodliner material itself any better on these than on OEM.? My Honker intake is starting to slight fray mine (OEM) in the air bridge area. I like the look of the carmotorsports liners, at least what I can see of it. Thanks

The back board used is the GM OEM. However, since the Car Motorsports covers the entire insulator with a fine carpet material it's more durable and gives it a rich look
