I finally installed my VaraRam VR-B2 on my bone stock 03 Coupe. Being new to Corvettes, I asked a friend (and Vette owner) to help me. Install was fairly easy. Fit was great. I am here to tell this forum, there is a SIGNIFICANT increase in SOTP feel.
I sprayed a thin coating of light oil on the gray B2 filter during the install. The two questions I have is: How often do I need to clean the filter and, how do I clean the filter?
Really depends on where you drive. If you are around dusty roads I'd look at it every three months. If it is a weekend car and only see's the sun, than every six months should be fine.
I wash my filter with mild soap and water. Make sure it is 100% dry and lightly mist some oil on the filter.
You will know if you used to much because it will jack up you MAF, which is no big deal, you just have to remove it and clean it.
Not hard at all. I took my time and spent ~3 hours removing the old one. There quite a few panels/fog lights housings to remove. You want to be careful taking apart connectors and clamps. I cleaned the radiatiors of debris. It took ~1 hour to install the new one. The new B2 version seemed to fit great.

Thanks for the advice. It's my DD. There is not much dust in (rainy) Oregon.
Sorry for the dumb question. Anybody mind telling me what a VaraRam VR-B2 is and does?
from Wikipedia.com (Cold air intakes operate on the principle of increasing the amount of oxygen available for combustion with fuel. Because cooler air has more density for a given volume, cold air intakes generally work by providing cooler air from outside the hot engine bay). This equals more HP. I'm sure a lot of people on this forum will differ on the actual amount of HP increase the B2 will deliver. The VaraRam website indicates ~ 30 more HP. It feels like a bunch.
