I have had my girlfriends dachshund in mine a few times. You better believe there were towels all over the place though. Also, you cant fit a doberman in the car to well.
I don't want to be a hijacker, but I do have a question for all of you animal lovers that drive with pets without restraining them.
Why do people do that to their animals that many say is just like one of their family? Would you drive around with your kids in the car and no seatbelt?? The scary ones are the lap drivers yaking on a cell phone.
Somehow, I know when she wants to go on a cruise. She used to bring a leash for a walk, now she puts on this sweater for a ride. Shows that labs are pretty smart.

She also waves if she sees another Vette!!!
Actually, my daughter took these pics recently and wanted to post them. This thread seemed appropriate. I got a Chevy crew cab, and the back seat is for my dog. She sheds and claws too much for the Vette.
All I got to say to Mollie is:
You wanna go for a Corvette ride?
She will stand by the Corvette door and wait for me to open it and let Her in.
If I say:
You waana go for a jeep ride?
She will stand by My Samuri door for me to let Her in.
She is a Black Lab Chow mix and my best friend. She will guard My vehicals with Her life. I was at the VA and She was in the Vette and would not let anyone near Her until I came out. Then everybody got to pet Her.

No way! Our Yellow Lab sheds profusely. I can only imagine all of those yellow hairs on the black interior. She has to be content just to be in the garage when I am working on the car.
Taking your dog along makes no sense unless you are a dog person as well as a car person. Then it makes perfect sense. The problem is dog hair. I solved the problem by making a carpeted Vette shaped dog carrier that fits in the back of my 03 Coup. The dog box starts in back of the seats, goes to the roof and back far enough to allow room for a weeks worth of luggage in back of it. It is big enough to fit my two Brits, about 40 pounds each. We've done two 1000 mile trips with this setup and it works a charm. No dog hair and they have a screened window that looks forward past the seats so they can see where we are going. Both dogs stay awake in the twisties and seem to enjoy some transverse G's but they tend to go to sleep when we are on an interstate.

Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
